From the East

My Brethren,

I have received many calls, emails, and a letter of comfort from our Chaplain, and sincere concern and brotherly love and get well wishes for me to feel better. Also, for my mother who broke her hip and rib last week. I am feeling much better now that all the procedures are completed. Thank you, it really feels good when you know you are thought about. My mother is currently in Milford Manor recuperating and receiving physical therapy. We are praying for her continued improvement. Thank you very much for all your wishes for a speedy recovery. Congratulations to Brothers Ryan Berman, Brad Krantz, Ed Nowicki, Len Roberts, Bruce Hoffman, Matt Nelson, and Bob O’Connell were found proficient in the First Degree atechism on June 17th. Each of you will receive your Fellowcraft Degree on September 2nd, please confirm your attendance or if you are unable to attend with our Secretary, W. Bro. Paul Adler.

Congratulation to our new Brother, Brian Lorber, who was initiated on June 17th. Welcome, and best wishes to you for a long and enjoyable Masonic career. I am looking forward to getting to know you. Your Lodge is growing by leaps and bounds, and will continue to grow for some time. We currently have twenty two candidates to receive the three Degrees of Masonry. Also, at the semiannual communication of the Grand Lodge in May of this year, the Grand Lodge voted as a body to institute a Membership program to attract to our great fraternity those men of good character that may not be familiar with us. We will see many more men seeking information about Masonry in the months to come. We are establishing a Membership/Retention committee for this Lodge. This committee will become a Standing Committee of this Lodge. It will consist of three (3) members. The duties of the committee will be to personally contact all persons enquiring about membership in a timely manner. Committee members will be appointed September 2nd, our first meeting in September. Anyone interested please let me know by August 14th.

All Brethren are strongly encouraged to attend our Annual Planning Meeting on August 14th. This is when you get to let us know what activities you would like to do next year. Without your input, we will not know what you would like to do. Our entire year of activities is oing be selected from what everyone wants to do. Want to help out planning, preparing, and running events? Great! We need Brothers to run, help and plan the events. Event leaders will be invited to attend a leadership dinner; at a date that will be best for everyone involved. Officers, immediately following the Planning Meeting we will be having a rehearsal for the Fellowcraft degree.

On behalf of all my Officers and myself; we are honored by the privilege to serve our Lodge, Amicable-St. John’s Lodge #25. Please remember to keep our Country, our Leaders, and our Service Men and Women in your prayers.

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”

GOD BLESS AMERICA

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Ronald Jay Jacobson, P.M.
